Toyota Adding More Time To New Vehicle Development
Recently a top Toyota executive said that, "Toyota Motor Corp. is extending the time it takes to develop new vehciles by about four weeks".

During all the recent recalls the Executive Vice President of Toyota, Takeshi Uchiyamada said the company has learned a lot in way of needing to slow the pace at which we develop new vehciles.

Currently it takes Toyota about 24 months on average to develop a new vehciles in Japan. The timeframe varies in other markets including the U.S.

Toyota executives have acknowledged that the company expanded too quickly. Company officials said that the automaker Toyota, has taken a host of steps to beef up its quality
controls.

Toyota Motor Corp. now has 1,000 people devoted to quality control, an increase of about 50%. The company also has created a 100-person committee devoted to incoporating customer feedback into vehcile development. They have added a new layer of managers to help train and instruct engineers in addition to the other steps taken.

Tesla Motors and Toyota Motor Corporation Formalize Agreement to Develop Electric Version of RAV4
