2011 Toyota Corolla: For 2011, Toyota offers three grades: Base, LE and S, all of which use a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Front and rear styling has been refreshed along with some interior design changes. Also on tap is Toyota’s Star Safety System, which includes stability and traction control, antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and emergency braking assist, along with the Smart Stop Technology brake-override system. The 2011 Toyota Corolla is powered by a proven 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine, which produce 132 horsepower and 128 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. In addition to the Star Safety System, all Corollas are equipped with six airbags: front, front side-mounted and front and rear side-curtain airbags, along with seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage force limiters, active headrests and an energy-absorbing steering column.

2012 Toyota Camry: Features, fuel economy, reliability and value have made 2012 Camry the most popular passenger car in America. All 2011 Toyota Camry models are equipped with a full complement of safety features, including antilock brakes, electronic brake force distribution and brake assist. Toyota’s stability and traction control system is also standard, and regulates engine output and brake application on individual wheels to help control loss of traction while cornering. Camry comes with more airbags than its two closest competitors: Dual-stage front airbags, along with side, side-curtain and driver’s knee airbags are standard on all models. Camry is rich in comfort and convenience features, with plenty of storage options in the front passenger area, including a large front console box with an accessory power socket and auxiliary audio jack, while a box behind the shift lever contains another power outlet.

2011 Toyota Highlander: Restyled for 2011, the Toyota Highlander includes a 50/50 split third-row seat with rear climate control on all models. Highlander Hybrid gets a V-6 with a boost in power and a standard Tech Audio Package. In addition to Toyota’s standard safety package, all 2011 Highlander models come with a brake override system. A 2.7-liter, inline four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower and 186 lb.-ft. of torque powers the base Highlander and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 3.5-liter, V-6 develops 270 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Highlander Hybrid now features a 3.5-liter, V-6 with an electric drive motor for a total output of 280 horsepower. The 2011 Toyota Highlander comes with Toyota’s Star Safety System, a full complement of standard safety features including stability and traction control, electric power steering, antilock brakes with electronic force distribution and brake assist.

2011 Toyota RAV4: Nearly 15 years old and still a strong performer among crossover SUVs, the RAV4 now features standard brake override technology and an enhanced entry-level trim, the Base Plus Extra Value Package. The new Base Plus includes a six-CD audio system with XM Radio (subscription required); steering wheel audio controls; 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels; color-keyed door handles; Daytime Running Lights (DRL); roof rack; privacy glass; power tilt/slide moonroof; upgraded fabric interior; and, on two-row models, a rear cargo area tonneau cover, and it’s available on four-cylinder and V-6 models. The 2011 Toyota RAV4 comes with a full complement of safety features, including antilock brakes with electronic force distribution and brake assist, stability and traction control and six airbags. The stability control system integrates with the electronic power steering to influence steering assist and better anticipate loss of control and more effectively respond to driver inputs and vehicle behavior.

2011 Toyota Tacoma: Toyota takes its successful Tacoma mid-size pickup truck in a few different directions for 2011 while retaining the solid foundation it’s had since the second generation’s introduction for 2005. For buyers seeking value and fuel economy there are five additional four-cylinder models in 4x2 and 4x4 models and all three cab styles—Regular, Access and Double. All 2011 Toyota Tacoma models are equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission. The 2.7-liter, four-cylinder produces 159 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque. As basic as these models are, like all Tacomas, they all come with a full complement of safety features, including stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution and assist. Side and side-curtain airbags and active head restraints on the front seats are also standard. Returning for 2011 is the X-Runner performance truck. Powered by the 4.0-liter, V-6, six-speed manual gearbox and featuring a specially tuned chassis, the X-Runner makes the trip from 0-to-60 mph in under seven seconds. Perhaps more impressive is the truck’s cornering grip—0.9g of lateral acceleration—comparable to many sports cars. X-Runner features an Access Cab, full body kit, hood scoop and integrated fog lamps.
